“Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development strategy in 2022─2026 will give a new breath to the recovery of the tourism sector after the pandemic.”
Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Nagiyev, said during his speech at the conference on “Azerbaijan tourism in the post-pandemic period” held on August 4. The head of the agency stated that the implementation of the strategy will support the creation of new tourism and recreation zones in the country, the elimination of seasonality in domestic and incoming tourism, and the sustainable development of the tourism sector. Fuad Naghiyev noted that improving the business environment in the field of tourism in the post-pandemic period, improving and diversifying transport and communication relations with the target tourism markets will be one of the main activities for the Agency.
Within the framework of the event, the presentation of the interactive panel section posted on the Agency’s official website was held to track the arrival statistics of foreigners visiting the country. Nijat Abbasli, head of the statistics and research sector of the Department of Tourism Policy and Strategy of the DTA, showed the number of foreign citizens visiting the country, the situation in the current year, the comparison with the previous year and the period before the pandemic in an interactive panel, and gave detailed information about the frequency and availability of information.
At the same time, the results of the research project “Analysis of Tourists’ Satisfaction and Loyalty” were presented to the representatives of the tourism industry. It is noted that the research was carried out based on tourists from the Middle East, Northeast Asia, South Asia and America.
The 2nd General Assembly of the Association of Azerbaijan Tourism Agencies was held in the second part of the meeting. Within the framework of the assembly, Goydeniz Kahramanov was elected the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association.
