The Indian company “IndiGo Airlines” plans to start direct flights to Azerbaijan from next month.
Referring to the State Tourism Agency, it was informed in the meeting between the chairman of the institution, Fuad Naghiyev, and the ambassador of India to Azerbaijan, Sridharan Madhusudhanan.
The parties discussed the prospects of development of relations, mutual promotion measures, cultural and historical factors that attract Indian tourists in our country, intensification of visits of Indian tourists to Azerbaijan in recent times, increasing the number of direct flights.
In the first half of this year, more than 47,670 people visited Azerbaijan from India, which is more than 3 times more than the same period last year, and 1.7 times more than the same period of 2019.
A simplified “e-visa” system is applied to Indian citizens for travel to Azerbaijan. They can come to our country through direct flights operated by “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC in the direction of Delhi-Baku-Delhi.
